Lipson SYU Hub
Devon Mind is excited about the creation of the new SYU Hub at Lipson Co-operative Academy in Plymouth and to start delivering the SPEED-You-Up programme to an enthusiastic group of 15 Year 10 pupils. Commencing in December 2021, the young people in the SYU Hub will continue to meet weekly. They began working through some of the Talents and Skills Module and have already started to brainstorm ideas for their pop-up.
The pupils are looking forward to working as a team to create their business pop-up, some ideas including a school café.
Plymouth Argyle Community Trust SYU Coaches
Devon Mind hosted a training event in November for 10 Argyle Community Trust staff to become trained SPEED-You-Up coaches. Using this knowledge, alongside their wealth of experience as coaches for the community trust, they will deliver the SYU course to 27 schools across the southwest. They will use the SYU modules, tools, and resources to inspire, engage and help children in secondary education achieve their full potential and contribute to the community.
The coaches were delighted and impressed with the wide range of resources on the SYU website and are excited to start delivering the course!
