Camberley WSX Hub and Aldershot WSX Hub
Training:
There were several SYU training days taking place in the WSX Camberley and Aldershot Hubs between June and October.
During this time over 20 learners have completed the SYU programme. One of the learners enjoyed SYU so much that he attended the whole programme twice!
For the first time since Covid we also were running the training online. This helped those who cannot commute to attend the sessions.
We received very positive feedback from one of our participants.
Pop Ups:
There were 2 Pop ups as well run on the same day for 2 learners.
One Pop Up was created by Nina who is the UK Judo Gold Medallist and has set up a personal training business and already has a customer.
Another learner, Sheridan, has set up a tattoo business thanks to SYU and is already looking for another team member to work with.
Schools
We are very pleased to say that at Farnborough 6th Form College we ensured the longevity of the programme. This is thanks to business teacher, Saffron Owen, who has been trained as an SYU Coach and who agreed to deliver SYU on WSX's behalf from September 2022 to June 2023.
WSX’s SYU trainer Adriana has visited one of the sessions together with Femke from Sint-Niklaas who paid WSX a visit in October. It has been a pleasure to host Femke and show her the school as well as Aldershot Hub.
There are 17 students who have signed up to the programme.
Other events
June to October was certainly a busy time and it was a pleasure to visit one of our fellow SYU partners Bournemouth University on two separate occasions. The first visit was in June when the partners' meeting was held.
During the second visit, Adriana had a chance to run a training session for a group of learners invited by the University.
There were also two networking events held by the Camberley Hub and Surrey Council which allowed networking and encouraged a conversation about self-employment.
